A Bit Of A Moan...

I am a tad bit sad because my 'brown box' from E.L.F still hasn't turned up at my sparkling door!! :(
I placed my order on 12/1/11, it was dispatched on 14/1/11 and STILL hasn't arrived at my address for over 10 days!!!
I have emailed E.L.F and they confirmed that my package was in transit!!! Where is it????!!
Off to email them AGAIN now and hopefully I'll be getting it soon :)

E.L.F Plumping Lip Glaze Review

Where do I start with this?!

Right! First things first, I ordered two of these lip glazes, Peach Passion and Champagne. They look like this...

Peach Passion

Champagne

So there I am, waiting for nice coral-ly and yellow lip glosses, and guess what turns up?!!

Oasis

and...

Plum Pout

"What?!" I hear you say. Well, that's what I thought. These colours look NOTHING like the ones I originally ordered. I didn't really mind that Peach Passion didn't show up, but, I was really disappointed that I didn't get Champagne! However, I noticed that Plum Pout was in the packaging of Champagne. Ah ha! Detective Daisy cracked the case :) I emailed E.L.F explaining my 'situation' and they sent me a replacement. BUT, they sent me Plum Pout AGAIN! Once again, I emailed them and they confirmed that there was a packaging mix up and sent me another replacement. So I'm thinking that they have resolved the problem and I'm FINALLY going to get the Champagne lip glaze. WRONG!! Yep, they sent me Plum Pout again! I didn't even bother telling them that they sent me the wrong one, so I'm probably going to end up giving them to my friends as presents.

ANYWAYS...lets get to the review...

What they say:

"Forget costly Collagen injections, or those painfully stinging glosses, stimulate your senses to a refreshed full perfect pout with E.L.F plumping lip glaze! E.L.F proudly presents a revolutionary lip plumper, infusing natural ingredients that awaken your senses for fresh, volume enhanced, and moisturized lips. This dual sided Plumping Lip Glaze has a tinted colour for a subtle plump or a clear gloss that power plumps your lips, use together and instantly feel the lip enlarging effects!"

Plum Pout

I must say that I do like the sheer plum colour of this glaze. I find that it goes quite well with my skin tone (fair-ish). The plumping end is methanol, like many other plumpers, and it is kind of refreshing when you put it on your lips :) Also, the consistency makes my lips look smooth and moisturized - me likey ;)

Howver, it doesn't do much plumping at all. The white end does make your lips tingle for a while but it doesn't make a difference when you look at your lips.

Oasis

This is a nice pink colour that has some goldish glitter in it. It really isn't pigmented at all and just about gives off a sheer colour.

Once again, it doesn't do much plumping but does tingle! I can't really say much more because both of these glazes are pretty much the same, apart from the colour!

The packaging looks cheap! It looks like there is quite a bit in each end - but there isn't! The applicators are hard and don't really have much 'padding' to them. They were only £1.50 each so I suppose that they are 'all right' :)

E.L.F Powder Brush Review

What they say:
"This new antibacterial, synthetic haired Taklon brush is softer and more absorbent and can be used with wet or dry products.
- Creates a professional sculpted look
-Full coverage colour
-Use for powder or blush for perfect contouring"

I absolutely LOVE this brush!! This is the best flat top brush you can get for such a low price so no wonder it is one of E.L.F's best selling brushes! It is full of soft, sturdy hairs that are amazing at buffing in products. Washing this brush is incredibly easy and I haven't experienced a major amount of shedding. I find this brush perfect for applying powder foundations rather than liquids even though it works well for them too. It is definitely worth investing in this brush as it is only £3.50!
The only downside is that the handle on my brush has come slightly loose over time :(
I can't wait to buy another and I recommend this brush 100%!!

E.L.F Blending Eye Brush Review

What they say:
"Expertly blends multiple eye shades while softening dramatic edges and fine lines. Brush can also multi-task - use it to set powder or liquid concealer."

I finally decided to order this blending brush as I've read many reviews about it being soft for some people and scratchy for others.
My first impressions were that the bristles are soft and sturdy enough to blend eyeshadows very well. It hasn't shed even after a few washes and has kept its shape.
I have used it to set under-eye concealer and it does work well as it picks up just enough product and is precise around this area.
However, I did find it to be a bit scratchy and too sturdy but I can't complain as it's only £1.50 and gets the job done.

E.L.F Eyeshadow Brush Review

What they say:
"Specially sheered brush tipabsorbs the perfect amount of eyeshadow and provides a long lasting colour saturation. The comfort curved brush contours the eye with natural gliding stokes for easy and accurate eyeshadow application."

I bought this brush after reading a ton of good reviews about it and it is quite good. The quality is good enough for £1.50. It hasn't shed, even after washing, and has a nice firmness about it that makes it very good at packing on colours.
The only negative thing I can say is that the bristles can dig into your eyelid slighty because the bristles are so dense. However, this is a minor flaw that I'll overlook since it's cheap :)

E.L.F Blushing, Bronzing and Blending Brush Review

What they say:
"This unique three-in-one brush allows for precision application of blush, bronzer and all other multipurpose dusts and loose powders."

I have come to the sad conclusion that this is the worst brush I have ever used! It is very prickly and feels like straw against your skin. It has next to no density whatsoever as it can hardly pick up any product. Whilst washing the brush, red dye came off the bristles :S It lost its shape after washing and the bristles became dry and nasty!!
One positive is that it can be used for highlighting :)

I don't recommend this brush AT ALL and it doesn't even deserve the £1.50 price tag! This has to be the worst brush in the collection.

E.L.F Mechanical Eyelash Curler Review

What they say:
"This innovative eyelash curler has a special curved design which angles to suit all eye shapes. Its silicone rubber pad applies the appropriate amount of pressure to curl lashes naturally and allows for damage-free heating. Get long-lasting curled lashes both easily and safely."

This is a very good eyelash curler for its price - £1.50!! The rubber pad doesn't get cut quickly, depending on the amount of pressure you apply, and it doesn't usually collect mascara residue either :)

However, there are some down-sides :(
1. I ALWAYS catch my eyelid with it, no matter how careful I am!
2. It doesn't curl the lashes on the outside corners of my eye

Overall, I would recommend this tool as you can't really argue with the price tag that it comes with!

E.L.F Powder Puffs Review

These powder puffs were only £1.50 for a set of four!

What they say:
"Soft, cottony puffs make powder application flawless and easy. Great for quick touchups and eliminating shine."

These puffs aren't that bad at all! They're obviously not the softest puffs on the market but they get the job done. There isn't really alot more to say apart from the fact that I have found these to be long lasting, however, I wouldn't use the same one for any longer than a month :)

E.L.F Natural Radiance Blusher

I ordered two blushes, Glow and Innocence. They were both £1.50 from the normal line :)

What they say:
"Exquisite, delicate, pigment that makes cheeks radiant combined with a healthy-looking glow. Infused with texturizing agents, skin feels smooth and pores are minimized."

Glow

This blush is orangey-pink with gold shimmer so it could be used a highlight shade. I think that it would be better if it was matte as the actual colour of it is very nice :) It is soft to the touch and blends very easily.

The packaging is cheap looking and the tin that the blush is in is very small. This makes it very hard to use a big brush with the blush. (That was a mouthful!)

Innocence

Once again, I'm not a big fan of the packaging. The size of it makes it difficult to get an even amount of product on a brush. Also, the lid can be a bit fiddly sometimes :s

Otherwise, I thought the product was nice, it's not terrible and it's not great. However, I would't say that it was a waste of money. The colour is VERY light and not really that pigmented, so it barely shows up on my skin. It does give off quite a subtle sheen, but I think it looks rather pretty :)

You can't really go wrong with this colour because it is so easy to blend and you can' really apply 'too much'. I think that this colour would work better as a face powder seeing as the colour is so sheer.
